Noell and her husband Tom live in Union Township in northeastern Shelby County. Noell is the daughter of Red (Vince) and Billie Worland of Shelbyville, who were active for years in the local Democratic Party. Tom and Noell have four adult children and two grandsons. Noell is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; Noell and Tom are members of Little Blue River Friends Meeting. Besides church activities Noell and Tom are active with Shelby County Players.
Noell has a BA in Communication Arts from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Education from Indiana University. She served as the Shelby County Solid Waste Management District Director from 1998 to 2005. She also worked for the Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District as a conservation educator. Most recently she mangaged an Environmental Protection Agency grant for the Little Blue River Watershed.
Noell was appointed Central Committee Chair in March 2007. She is also the Union Township Precinct Committee chairperson. Noell’s goals for the Shelby County Democratic Party are:
1. To strengthen the organizational structure.
2. To educate the public about Democratic ideals.
3. To increase participation by Democrats in local decision making.
Ben was born and raised in Shelbyville. He and his wife, Meredith, have three children; Carter, McKenna, and Ian. He graduated Cum Laude from Marian College with a degree in Business Administration in 1996. Ben works as a Team Leader at Eli Lilly and Company. He has been a member of the Blue River Soccer Board for 3 years and coaches 2 teams each season.
Ben ran for County Council 4th District in 2006 and fell just short, capturing 49% of the vote. He is dedicated to strengthening the Democratic Party in Shelby County and presently serves as the Brandywine Township Precinct Committee chairperson. Ben took over Central Committee Vice Chair responsibilities in March of 2007.
Jodi has been involved with Shelby County Democrats for many years. She also serves on the County Election Board. She was re-elected Central Committee Treasurer in 2005 and is the Moral South Precinct Committee chairperson.
John is a long-time union member and Democratic supporter. He was re-elected Central Committee Secretary in 2005. He also serves as the Jackson Township Precinct Committee chairperson.
