Dean S. McNamara
Hello. My name is Dean (Mac) McNamara. I am a lifelong resident and graduate of Shelbyville High School, attended Franklin College and am Veteran of the Air Force. I have seen Shelby County go through many changes, both positive and negative. I agree that growth and expansion can be good, however we need to focus our attention on bringing more high paying job to our community.
I believe youth are our future. We need to create more opportunities that encourage youth to stay in Shelby County. In the late 60’s, I worked for Thomas Kelly at Breedloves Mens Wear for 5 years, and I was taught the core values of listening, going the extra mile to do the job right and building a working relationship for the future. I strongly believe in these values and lessons and have tried to apply them to all endeavors in my professional and personal life. Today’s youth need the same opportunities to grow and learn.
